Yeh Mera Dil an iconic song from the film Don with Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor was shot on a large film set in Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai. The set was designed and built to look like a penthouse suite in a luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Plants, artwork and décor where incorporated into the set design and dressing to make it feel like we where in Malaysia.
The key furniture pieces for the dance sequence were the four poster bed, the shaggy carpets and the lazy boy chair. They were chosen for their luxurious feel and for the various positions that the bed, rug and chair can be used for a for a dance sequence.
A 90 foot photographic print of the skyline of the city containing the Petronas Towers was stretched outside the windows of the set. Lights where stitched into it including the blinking light at the top. The photograph was taken at the magnification required as per the distance between the window and the set walls. The set was built at an 8 foot height.
